천상의 메시지 “Heavenly message”

하늘의 마음을 담아 전한다.

지금까지의 모든 자신의 작품들은 의도한 인식된 현상의 세계가 아닌 경계선 넘어 알 수 없는 시.공간 세계의 아우라를 근거로 또 다름의 감성적 소통을 하려는 부단한 작업 과정들이 지금의 “천상의 메시지”작업을 위한 전단계적 의미성으로 귀결 되었다고 정리 하여 본다.

대표적인 작품은 KBS 밀레니엄 대기획 코리아 2000 -「20과 21사이의 설치작품 (KBS 주최,서울타워, 1999-2000)이다.
서울의 중심에 서 있는 서울타워 (275m)를 솟대로 대변되는 수직의 토템폴(totem pole)로 상징화하여, 하늘과 땅을 이어주는 통로의 이미지로 해석하였으며, 새로운 세기의 새 천년에 우리의 전통적 정서인 오방색 천과 빛을 근거로, 하늘과 인간과의 소통의 기회를 확보하기 위한 거시적인 설치미술 작품이었다.
우주와 인간의 시각적 경계선 사이의 하늘에서 물방울이 구름이 되어 변화무쌍한 자연 현상과의 조우를 통해 시시각각 천변만화하는 근원성적인 에너지를 내포하고 있는 조형적 대상 혹은 카테고리 안에서 아우라를 교감하며, 찾아낸 찰나의 만 가지 경이로운 단상들을 작업 컨셉으로 설정하고, 기존의 인식된 보편적인 감성이 아닌 또 다름의 미적, 영적 소통의 정제된 감성적 메시지를 제공하는 역할을 자처 하게 된다.

그 "천상의 메시지" 작업을 위한 찰나의 미학은, 좀 더 열려있고, 하늘에 조금이라도 더 가까이 다가 갈 수 있는 위치에서, 일반적이지 않는 가슴에 와 닿는 순간의 조형적 이미지를 통한 소통의 기회를 끈기와 집념으로 끝없이 기다려야만 했으며,ﾠ그 찰나의 단상들을 고스란히 가슴에 담기 위한 묵시적인 관계의 역할은 숙명과 같은 업보라고 생각 하였다.

반야심경에서“색즉시공 공즉시색(色卽是空空卽是色)” 색이 공과 다르지 않고 공이 색과 다르지 않으며, 색이 곧 공이요 공이 곧 색이다라고 논술 한 것처럼, 세상만사는 이 상생과 상극의 이치에 따라 증.멸의 균형이 잡히는 것이며, 그 영원성이 보장된다는 철학적 근거를 바탕으로 하늘과 인간의 경계선 사이에서 만들어지는 만 가지 경이로운 단상을 통해, 새로운 가변적 의미성을 확보하기 위한 묵시론적 화두인 교감과 교합을 통해 그려내는 찰나의 단상을 발췌한 회화적 조형 작품들은 하늘의 영적 에너지와 교감을 추구하는 메시지가 된 것이다. 

지금 까지는 제주 하늘의 스펙타클한 특별함을 근거로 사진작업을 수행 하였으며, 하염없는 여백 속에서 오직 하늘에서 하늘만을 가슴에 담기 위한 수행과도 같은 프로세스를 통한 찰나의 인연을 기다리는 작업들이었다.

앞으로 기회가 된다면 세상 어딘가의 또 다른 무수한 변환 되어진 경이로운 단상과의 교감을 통한 새로운 천상의 메시지를 찾아 나설 계획을 하고 있으며, 그 하늘 아래에서 전시 및 영상 설치 작품들을 통한 소통의 기회를 계획 하고 있다.
그리고 이러한 천상의 메시지 사진 작업들을 기본 컨셉으로 꼴라쥬, UV프린팅 기법, 페브릭 프린트 오브제작품, 조형 작품, 영상 설치 작품등의 다변적인 표현의 모색을 통해 재해석 되어진 회화적인 작품을 근거로, 또 다름의 아우라를 확보 하기 위한 역할에 천착하고자 한다.

최근에 사진작품들을 찢어 꼴라쥬 기법으로 재해석한 작품들은 결국 하늘과 인간세상의 풍경이 정.반.합의 논리에 근거하여 완성된 합일된 풍경들을 경험하면서, 우주. 하늘의 마음을 내 가슴에 담아 주어 세상 사람들과 “천상의 메시지”를 통한 영적인 교감의 원초적인 소통을 실현 하라는 살아갈 이유의 마지막 업보를 스스로에게 권면 한다.



Heavenly Message

Sending a message from the heaven.

Time across a boundary and beyond the world of phenomena in which I created my works.
The continuous and enduring steps of work I have taken, based on the aura of the space world, in an attempt to communicate with emotions, have become the preceding works for today’s “Heavenly Message.”
KBS Millennium the great planning Korea 2000, “20th and 21st install landscapes ago between,” installed on Seoul Tower by KBS from 1999 to 2000, is one of my representative works.
The Seoul Tower (with a height of 275 meters) was symbolized as a sotdae, a vertical totem pole, that stands at the center of Seoul, and interpreted as the channel between the heaven and earth. As a colossal installation, the fabrics of five colors and light that represent Korea’s traditional sentiments were used to establish communication between the heaven and people in the new millennium.
In the sky where the boundary between the universe and humans lies, drops of water form clouds, interact with fluctuating natural phenomena, and communicate through the aura within the formative subjects or categories that possess the endlessly and ever-changing fundamental energy of the universe. The perceptive phenomena, captured in between moments, present refined emotional messages of artistic and spiritual communication, rather than confining itself to the existing and generally perceived senses.
The momentary beauty for “Heavenly Messages” was established from a more open space where one feels closer to the heaven. It required a long patience to find an opportunity to communicate through formative yet extraordinary images that touched my heart, leading me to see an implied relationship among the momentary phenomena with my heart, which could only be described as fate.
As said in the Heart Sutra, “Form is nothing other than emptiness, and emptiness is nothing other than form,” everything in the world is in a state of balance between harmony and discords. The pictorial installations were extracted through the moments of phenomena with communication and collection, leading to an implied, variable meaning; and through the philosophy of eternality in the balance. The works have become the message that seeks spiritual energy in heaven as well as communication with it.
Until recently, the subject of my photography work had been the spectacular sky of Jeju through a series of processes that captured the momentary phenomena in the vast and endless sky.
I plan to discover a new heavenly message, given an opportunity, by communicating with more momentary phenomena in various forms in other parts of the world and to interact with the audience through exhibitions and video installations in an open setting.
Based on the concept of photographs of the “Heavenly Message,” I intend to focus on the pictorial works that are reinterpreted through the search for diverse methods including collages, UV printing techniques, fabric prints object works, sculptures, and video installations; and, based on these reinterpreted works, find a different aura in them.
The works I recently created with photographs, which have been torn apart and reinterpreted in collage techniques, eventually offered an experience through which the sky and the human world were unified into landscapes based on the logic of thesis, antithesis, synthesis; and the last fate of living reason to bring the hearts of the universe and heaven to my heart and realize the instinctive communication of spiritual connection through the "heavenly messages."
